As of
August 2013, there were 43 particle therapy facilities in the world,
representing a total of 121 treatment rooms available to patients on a regular
basis. They are located in Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany,
Italy, Japan, KOREA PROTON THERAPY South Korea, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland,
the UK and the US.[50] 28% of the proton therapy facilities are located in the
US and 23% are located in Japan and more than 96,537 patients had been treated:
